Our mission
- AIM Towards Positive Change Mentorship Program was created to help make pursuing a career in healthcare more accessible to students of color at all University of Washington campuses and beyond.
- We connect mentors (healthcare professionals or students, such as medical doctors, medical students, physician assistants, physician assistant students, nurse Practitioners, etc) primarily with undergraduate and gap year students interested in healthcare.
Who we serve
- This program is intended to serve and contribute towards the success of both black students and students that identify with other underrepresented ethnic backgrounds in healthcare.
- We encourage students of any underrepresented ethnic background to sign up for our mentorship program.
Why this initiative matters
It is evident that the healthcare field falls short in exemplifying diversity. As students of color striving to become successful and well-rounded health professionals, we understand that combating the issue of diversity in healthcare will take a lot of efforts and years of hard work. Nonetheless, this does not discourage us from taking the steps of contributing to the change that we desire to see in healthcare.
