Bio: Dr. Stephen McCartney is an Assistant Professor in Maternal Fetal Medicine at the University of Washington department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is a clinician scientist and underwent MD/PhD training at Washington University in St. Louis. His research interest is how the immune system contributes to normal pregnancy and whether we can target immune pathways to reduce the risk of pregnancy complications such as preeclampsia, preterm birth, and stillbirth. His clinical interest is patients with preeclampsia and autoimmune disease in pregnancy.
