Bio: Hi, I’m Ghania Bamba and I’m currently a first-year physician assistant student here at MEDEX Northwest at the University of Washington. I graduated in 2022 from Arizona State University with my Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. l am first-generation, my parents are from West Africa (Togo and Benin) but I have lived in the U.S. all my life. I didn’t have any family members who worked in medicine, so I went into the process of applying to PA with limited resources. I am so excited to be a resource to students exploring medical careers!
When they attended their healthcare program: Currently attending
Current field of Practice: Physician Assistant
City of origin: Maple Valley, WA
School they attended for their healthcare program: University of Washington MEDEX Northwest
Undergraduate major: Kinesiology
Why they became a mentor: I didn’t have much representation when I was applying to medical school, and I think it is so valuable to have someone to help guide you through the intense process that is applying to a health professions program. I want to be a resource to students out there that are in the same position I was.
